John Neller - Marketing Director

Widely recognised as one of the pioneers of software package development in Australia, John founded Neller Software in 1976 and led that Company to market leadership in the in-house Payroll/Personnel and Fixed Assets management application areas. At the time of selling his interest in 1989 the Company had over 600 clients for its various products, with a number of its COFAS Fixed Assets System clients being among the largest Private and Public sector Organisations in Australia.

Neller Software has grown very significantly over the ensuing 18 years, and in 2005 changed its name to Neller Pty Ltd (www.neller.com.au). That Company now (2007) has over 80 staff and a large blue chip client base, focusing exclusively on its Preceda Human Resources application.  Although he takes immense pride in the way his 'baby' has been fostered and grown, John no longer has any financial or other connection with the Company.

Formerly a Management Accountant by profession, John has accumulated significant business experience in a wide range of industries.  Prior to founding Neller Software, he had twelve years in Banking (which included five years in International Banking), two years as a Consultant with Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co., followed by two years as Plant Accountant with Rheem Australia and three years establishing complex manufacturing computer systems at Rainsford's Metal Products (now Schefenacker).

Since selling out of Neller Software in 1989 John sold other Companies' products in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), before seizing upon the opportunity to utilise his experience and professional reputation to mentor Neller Connect.  His skills are guiding the Company through its early growth phase to a point where it can be safely handed over to a Management Team which has the youthful energy and drive to take it to market leadership both in Australia and selected overseas markets. To coin a phrase from famous Baseball coach Yogi Berra, building Neller Connect is for John like "déjà vu all over again" - even to the point of taking on large entrenched outsourcing competitors in almost exactly the same way he successfully did all those years ago with the outsourced Payroll Bureaus.

Ben Martin-Peddey - Technical Director

Although not yet widely known across Business, Ben is regarded by John Neller as one of the most technically brilliant people he has encountered in his thirty years in the Computer Industry.  Now 37, Ben has crammed a lot of varied computing experience into his career so far, starting out as IT Manager of the Australian Resorts island network, based on Dunk Island.  He was also an Instructor and Assessor in programming at several different Colleges in Adelaide, before moving into the Defence Industry where he spent several years on a number of large projects as a Senior Systems' Engineer and Mentor.

His depth of experience in Defence has ingrained in Ben an extremely rigorous approach to systems' design and testing, and an uncompromising approach to everything he does - something which is reflected in both the design and quality of EZYB2B. As a snapshot, two such projects he worked on were three years working for Tenix Corporation in association with Northrop Grumman on an RAAF project Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) and on the Boeing 737-700 aircraft with Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) radar.

But he also has a depth of commercial Systems' Engineering experience, foremost in which are time and attendance management software for Time and People Australia, for Vision Fire and Security on their ADPRO FastTrace software - DVR for evidential quality recording with remote access of live events and retrieval of stored images.  Another was for Car Fleet Pty Ltd as a database developer for their in-house finance applications and services for management of hire purchases, novated and operating leases, job tracking and recording.

Ben has very impressive technical skills and a strong personal presence.  When coupled with his enormous drive and unswerving personal ambition, he is well equipped to help make Neller Connect a brilliant success in every way.

Ken Modistach - Senior Consultant

Ken has been in the computer industry for over 30 years, focusing very much on software implementation, network management and IT systems' problem solving.  He brings to Neller Connect a unique customer service orientation and a strong 'can do' attitude, and his skills strongly complement those of the Company's Directors, particularly Ben Martin-Peddey.

Although he has an extremely diverse working background in private enterprise, for a number of years he worked in the South Australian Government as a network Manager responsible for implementing major changes in the overall network operating environment of several large Departments.  Ken's network experience started with basic serial networks, through to secure VPN configurations which have equipped him with a depth of understanding of business requirements when implementing and supporting EZYB2B environments.

Ken has a professional approach to everything he does and is very personable and an excellent communicator who enjoys the challenge of problem solving, often focusing on the critical aspect of matching available technology with business requirements in ever-changing circumstances.  He has very considerable 'hands-on' experience in a variety of server-based and desktop operating system and software environments, and is a prized addition to our team.

Patrick Kennedy - Senior Consultant

Pat is a technical addition to the Neller Connect family and has been inextricably involved in the computer industry for the past 18 years or so.  He graduated with a BSc in 1992 and started with a series of analysis and programming roles before moving into project management and IT consultacy over the past 10 years.

He has worked with a large number of Organisations over the years, from smaller Adelaide-based Companies in various contracting roles, through to larger Corporate customers in Europe, USA, Asia and New Zealand.

With a keen interest in bringing together technical and business requirements, Patrick has covered many industry sectors, including computer graphics, communications, fleet management, laboratory systems, payroll and attendance systems, military systems, building industry cost estimation and contract management.

Pat's years of experience in IT and business, plus his very professional presence when dealing with our wide range of clients, again nicely complements the image we are creating within Neller Connect for the delivery of a high standard of customer service.

Stephen Koop - Senior Consultant

Steve is another IT Industry veteran, having now had just over 20 years experience in systems' design and programming.  Very early on in his career he recognised the direct relationship between software design and productivity - something he found was neither understood nor respected as it should have been in the world of commercial software.

His career path has focused on writing very lean but powerful software, with a particular emphasis on keeping software support to a minimum post-implementation.  He is extremely creative and innovative, and is always looking for better ways to automate what are often mundane and time-consuming manual functions.  He has that rare ability to explain in a clear and concise way many of the technical aspects of his work to audiences that are both technical and non-technical, and to management at all levels.

He has won several awards from his achievements in writing software products that automate the conversion of software and data, particularly with his work on conversion of Microsoft Office products from one version level to another, and in the conversion of the Microsoft Access back-end to an SQL database environment.  Much of his work has been successfully commercialised, and through this he has gained the respect of senior management and developers in Organisations such as Microsoft USA and Australia, EDS and Wells Fargo Bank.  Steve is a significant addition to our Team, and one with a valuable contribution to make to the ongoing development of EZYB2B and its complementary products going forward.
