We have adopted the well-proven Richard Branson business philosophy of using the twin incentives of price and service to help to expand the overall market for EDI adoption i.e., if you will pardon the vernacular, using them to put more behinds on seats.

Ultimately, if every trading partner that can do so, moved to using direct EDI and fully embraced the benefits of back-end system integration, the fall in the cost of doing business would be dramatic.

We don't have a standard Price List because there are no meaningful metrics upon which to base one e.g.  EZYB2B is an in-house software application which is run under your control, hence it is none of our business if you transmit 10,000 or 100,000 documents a month.

Our Subscription Fee pricing is derived by our gaining a reasonable understanding of the value to your business of using EZYB2B, getting your thoughts on what you believe an appropriate charge might be, and then arriving at a number which is mutually acceptable.  We believe that approach to be much more user-friendly than engaging in the often emotional haggling around a set price list when the bottom line is always going to be the same i.e. how much your Company is prepared to pay.

We utilise the concepts of cost and price averaging to derive smoothed fixed-price outcomes for both our Establishment and Subscription Fees.  This is to us a much more appropriate approach than charging individual clients with the direct cost of developing first-time translation maps because the next client to come along gains free access to them from the map library which is freely available to all members of the EZYB2B User Community.  Similarly, Establishment Fees are smoothed because the cost to implement and support any given client can also vary dramatically.

Of course, our Subscription Fee has the same cost recovery elements as any other software pricing, but we try to keep any "extras" to a minimum. Some of those extras might be:

  • Our EZYPRICAT Application for the in-house validation of Price Catalogue data to cleanse it prior to submission to GS1

  • Use of the Document Distribution Gateway to provide you with a single external connection to many trading partners.
Neither of these price additions are very high, but will be added as separate elements when sitting down with you to construct the Establishment and Subscription Fees.

As with any other software, if you require either modifications or the development of translation maps that are absolutely unique to your Company, for instance, they will be chargeable unless they are re-usable by other members of the EZYB2B User Community.

Because our overall objective is to help you reduce your cost of doing business, we believe you will be very pleasantly surprised by how our prices will always be pitched to ensure you have a significant saving over your overall cost of doing business currently.

Very few businesses actually conduct an introspective analysis of their cost of doing business, but analysing the relevant current and future cost elements can be an extremely illuminating exercise, particularly if you are currently using a model combining some electronic trading using an EDI VAN and a lot of re-keying of facsimiles and emails.  The Excel model is a 'starter kit' which you are encouraged to modify to suit your own specific circumstances.
