Most businesses of any reasonable size have had some exposure to EDI, mostly using an EDI VAN as the default option to provide the translation and transport services.  Many large Companies have made major investments in an in-house software infrastructure to facilitate direct trading - EZYB2B emulates that functionality but at a greatly lower price-point.

EZYB2B has the same basic functionality as an EDI VAN with document translation and transport protocols, it's just about where it does it.  The table below compares the centralised versus decentralised models and readers are invited to put their own spin on the comments in the EDI VAN column based on their experiences:

OUR "PSEUDO-DIRECT" TRANSPORT MODEL

Available for larger businesses that prefer to minimise the number of direct connections they have to manage, we have introduced a facility that mimics the transport capability of the EDI VAN:

  • It is a simple centralised Router that receives document batches then splits and transports them to the various designated distribution addresses (both ways).  We have called it a Document Distribution Gateway (DDG) because it is no more than a "traffic cop"

  • The administration cost is very low and no transaction fees are payable by either end of the trading links.  The only cost penalty is the inclusion of a fixed small addition to the  Subscription Fee

  • It is feasible to mix-and-match both centralised and decentralised EDI processing in any way you wish.

OPTION B- INSERTING EZYB2B FOR A SINGLE BACK-END CONNECTION
OPTION C- MIXING ALL EDI TRADING OPTIONS

In summary, EZYB2B is your Company's single (one-to-many) window to the outside world in a trading document sense, having the flexibility to deal with a multiplicity of different trading partner document formats and transport requirements on one hand, but having a single integration channel with your back-end ERP system on the other.
